Guide to check application status online

Read more about the visa application stages incl. VFS Global's 'Track your application'.

1. VFS Global receives your application incl. passport, supporting documentation and biometrics (Status on your VFS account: Your application has been submitted at VFS).

2. VFS forwards the application to the Danish Embassy in London. Please be aware that the applications and passports are received at the Embassy within 1-4 days after they have been submitted to a VFS-centre in the UK (Status on your VFS account: Your application has been dispatched to the Embassy).

3. The Embassy in London receives your application. The case processing time is calculated from the day the Embassy registers the application in the visa system, not from the time you apply online or submit the application at a VFS Global centre (Status on your VFS account: Your application is under process at the Embassy).

4. The Embassy is now processing your visa application // Please refer to the current average processing time published on our website.

The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documentation or request for an interview. Missing documents, declining to provide further documentation or not making yourself available for interview when asked may negatively affect the visa decision.

5. When the Embassy has processed your visa application one of the following will happen:
- The Embassy has made a decision and will return your passport with decision and your documents to VFS
OR
- The Embassy will send you an email stating that your application has been forwarded to the Danish Immigration Service (DIS) for further processing and final decision. You should therefore expect a longer processing time of up to 45 days // Once DIS has made a decision on your application, the Embassy will return your passport with decision and your documents to VFS.

6. The Embassy returns your passport with decision and documents to VFS (Status on your VFS account: Your application has been dispatched back to VFS from Embassy)

7. VFS is responsible for returning your passport with decision according to the agreement you have made with VFS when handing in your application (Status on your VFS account - One of two options: Your passport is ready for collection at VFS OR Your application has been dispatched via courier).

NB: ApplyVisa online status!
Please note that in ApplyVisa, the application status “Provide documents and biometrics for your application” is the final status in the ApplyVisa-system and this status will NOT be updated at any point.
