Advance Voting in the Municipal and Regional Elections 

Elections are scheduled for Tuesday 16 November 2021 to the municipal and regional councils in Denmark.

Conditions and deadlines for advance voting

You have the right to cast a vote, including voting in advance for the municipal and regional elections if you are;

- 18 years or older on Election Day
- are residing in the municipality/region and additionally,
- is either a Danish national, an EU national, a national of either Iceland or Norway
- or has been resident in Denmark continuously in the last four years prior to Election Day has the right to cast a vote, including voting in advance for the municipal and regional elections.

Votes can be cast at the Embassy in London as follows:

Monday to Thursday 09.00 – 12.00

Thursdays 16.00 – 19.00

Fridays 10.00 – 12.00


There is no fixed deadline for voting in the UK. However, votes must be cast early enough to arrive at the relevant Danish municipality before the polling commences in Denmark at 08:00 on the 16 November 2021. In practice, this means that votes must be cast no later than the 26 October 2021. It is possible to vote after this date, but it cannot be guaranteed that these votes will reach Denmark in time.

Photo ID (passport or driving licence) must be produced.

Votes can also be cast at Danish Consulates or Vice-Consulates (list on the Embassy’s website under Consular Services).
