Commercial Advisor - Innovation and Food

The Danish Embassy in London’s commercial department (Trade Council) is seeking a dedicated commercial advisor responsible for innovation and food.

The Trade Council is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and our mission is to promote Danish commercial interests in the United Kingdom by creating value and increased exports for Danish companies. 

Your primary responsibility as a commercial advisor will be to advise Danish companies about exports and internationalization to the United Kingdom. Through our value creating consulting services you will aim to ensure the best framework conditions for Danish companies operating in the UK market. Our services include market analyses, partner searches, facilitating access to authorities and key stakeholders, surveillance of market opportunities/challenges, organization of roadshows and Danish pavilions at trade shows, advice on sales and marketing activities on the British market, etc.
We expect that you:
1) Explore project opportunities in the British market and provide market intelligence, assisting in paving the way for Danish companies’ business opportunities;
2) Help Danish companies enter and grow in the British market;
3) Provide support on developing projects and match the demand with Danish strongholds.
Some travel within the UK and to Denmark is expected in order to engage with projects and stakeholders. You will be evaluated on your ability to create value for the Danish companies and contribute to achieve the regional earnings target.
- A Master’s degree in business administration and/or other commercially oriented graduate degree.
- A minimum of 3 years’ of work experience with business development, consulting and/or project management. Strong ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop relevant export promotion activities.
Experience from innovation/start-ups and/or food, agricultural sector or advanced manufacturing is desirable. We expect flexibility and openness to working in other sectors. Well-versed and familiar with the British market with a broad professional network. Insight to Danish industry/companies is considered a plus.
- Experience with sales and used to working systematically with customer relations ensuring decisive value creation and customer satisfaction.
- You are proactive, resourceful and a strong networker. You are always willing to lend an extra hand to colleagues and put an extra effort to ensure a project’s success.
- Fluency in English. Danish is not a requirement, but is considered a plus.
- You are a team-player who values a good working environment with focus on strong cooperation. 
- The Trade Council of Denmark offers a local contract with salary and other conditions regulated according to the Danish Embassy.
