How do I pay the application fee to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration?

The fee must be paid prior to handing in your application and must be done via bank transfer. For full guidelines, please click here.

How long must my funds be available in my account?

Your account must show sufficient funds going back approximately 1 month from the date of your application and must be available at the time of your relocation to Denmark.

I only have 4-6 months' validity left on my passport. Can I still apply?

It is recommended that you renew your passport before making an application as the Danish Agency for Labour Market and  Recruitment in Denmark require your passport to be valid for at least 3 years before granting a permit.

When will I get my passport and original documents back?

Your passport will be returned to you on the day of application. Your original supporting documents will be returned when the Danish Embassy has finished checking your application. Please note that this can take several weeks.

I have already lodged my application at the VFS office in London. What happens next?

If the application has been accepted and is complete, the Embassy will return your original supporting documents together with an Embassy reference number. This reference number should be used in all correspondence with the Embassy. You will be notified by the Embassy when a decision has been received from the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration or if further documents are required. This will happen by email, post or telephone.

How long is the processing time for a Green Card application?

It is not possible to give an exact processing time, as this depends on the work load of the Danish Embassy and the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. Most applications are processed within 6-9 months, but some, however, take longer.

How do I track my application? How do I get an update?

It is not possible for you or the Embassy to track your application. If you want to get an update on your application you will need to contact the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. To go to their website, please click here.

What do I do if I change my address in the UK?

You must notify the Danish Embassy in London by email. Please state your Embassy reference number in all communications.

What do I do if I have to leave the UK before a decision is made on my application?

You will need to notify the Danish Embassy in London AND the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration in Denmark (greencard@us.dk) that you wish to pick up the decision in your home country or at the Danish Embassy in the nearest neighbouring country.

Will the handling fee paid to VFS and the Embassy and the fee paid to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration be refunded if my application is refused?

All fees are non-refundable.

My Green Card application was refused by the Danish Agency International Recruitment and Integration. Can I appeal?

It is possible to appeal if you feel that the decision was made on an incorrect basis or you have obtained further documentation or information which can support your application. It is, however, at the discretion of the Danish Agency International Recruitment and Integration to decide if a new assessment of the application should be made.
