Verification of Copies
A verification is typically used as proof that a photocopy is a true copy of the original document. It may be a copy of a passport or Birth Certificate or other official documents.
Verification does not have anything to do with the contents of a document. It merely confirms that it is a true copy.
Verifications are carried out by the Embassy's Passport Office (Monday, Tuesday and Friday 10.00-12.00 (no appointment necessary) except Danish Public Holidays & UK Bank Holidays). The person whose document has to be verified must attend in person.
The fee is £22.00 per document.
On 1st January 2007 Denmark acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention of 5th Octoer 1961.
When a document has been endorsed with an Apostille, it is in most cases no longer necessary to have another legalisation done by the Embassy.
However, Embassy legalisation is still required, if the document is to be used in a country, which has not acceded to the Apostille Convention. Countries outside the Apostille Convention.
Please make an appointment on 0207 333 0210 if Embassy legalisation is required. The fee is £22.00 per legalisation.
Further information about the Apostille is available on the website of the Danish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
