Danish General Elections 5th June 2019

Procedures for voting in the UK

Parliamentary elections will be held in Denmark on Wednesday 5th June 2019

You must be registered in the Danish electoral register in order to vote.
Read more about the right to vote for Danish nationals abroad (Danish only).

Danish citizens who are registered to vote, and who are in the UK temporarily, will have the right to cast a vote at the Danish Embassy in London or at the consulates/vice-consulates across the UK. See the list over consulates and vice-consulates here.

There is no fixed deadline for voting in the UK. However, votes must be cast early enough to arrive at the relevant Danish municipality before the polling commences in Denmark at 08:00 on 5th June 2019.

In practice, this means that votes must be cast no later than Friday 1st June 2019. It is possible to vote after this date, but it cannot be guaranteed that these votes will reach Denmark in time.

The Embassy is open for voting as follows:

Monday – Wednesday: 09:00 – 16:30

Thursday: 09:00 – 19:00

Friday: 09:00 – 16:00
Please note that the Embassy is closed every day between 12:00-13:00.

Please bring ID such as passport, driving licence or Danish health card.

Please note that it is necessary to make an appointment at the consulates/vice-consulates.
