The online exporting programme is the helping hand Danish businesses need to export their products via online channels.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced back in September, Denmark’s online exporting initiative to help companies to sell abroad using digital channels. The initiative strengthens the efforts to get Danish companies, and especially the small and medium-sized, into large global e-marketplaces.

It is the Danish government's ambition to support the export potential for Danish businesses and online exports play a crucial part in the growth strategy.
The Embassy has now signed an MOU with: Cdiscount, Rozetka, Real.de, Zalando, OTTO, Allegro, Newegg, Wayfair, Onbuy.com, Fruugo and DBA. Through these MOUs, we will aim to on-board more Danish companies on these e-marketplaces reaching hundreds of millions of users. And this is just the beginning as more and more e-marketplaces will be plugged into the scheme.

Why online exports?

By selling online, businesses can test and find customers in different markets and sell 24/7 while taking advantage of different times zones and get their products exposed to millions of potential buyers, which also strengthens their brand awareness

Why e-marketplaces?

Last year, Denmark imported DKK 30 billion more than it exported, and global e-marketplaces are estimated to account for 40 percent of B2C global sales in 2020. You can’t afford not take advantage of the benefits of online cross-border trade.

Why join the online exporting programme?

This programme provides Danish companies who are new or experienced online sellers with:

    - Online promotional opportunities with the e-marketplaces

    - Discounted commission fees in some cases

    - Dedicated account managers provided by the platforms

    - Plus expert support from our digital advisors placed at the Danish missions in New York, London, Berlin and Shanghai who can help with developing and implementing e-commerce strategies internationally, e-marketplace identification, route to markets and introductions

These incentives have been exclusively created for businesses joining these platforms through this governmental initiative. Through the programme, Danish companies can apply for a free of charge export preparation program aimed to boost your online exports.
