Communications Officer

The Danish Embassy in London is looking for a part-time employee to be part of the Communication, Culture and Public Diplomacy Department. The employee will join a team consisting of the Press Attaché, the Cultural Attaché and an intern.

The section is working on a wide range of tasks focusing on promoting Danish interests and views in the UK as well as strengthening the British knowledge of Denmark and Danish values.


We are responsible for the embassy's external communication and handle the contact with the press. In addition, we are working to promote Danish culture in the UK in collaboration with external partners in Denmark and the UK. We also cooperate with the other sections of the embassy to support their communicative goals.


We are looking for a colleague who wants to join a team that is working on a varied set of projects. You will in particular be working on producing material to our social media channels and be involved in the logistics, promotion and execution of events and conferences, including performing administrative tasks. 


You will have to work independently, efficiently and be service-minded, so it is important that you are excellent at seeking information and have organisational flair. At the same time, you must have outstanding cooperation skills. Some events will be in the evening, and you have to be ready to solve tasks that arise outside normal working hours. 


Qualifications we are especially looking for:

  • Fluent in Danish and English, speech and writing
  • Excellence in handling social media
  • Solid experience with photo, video and audio
  • An eye for Danish stories, we can push to the British media
  • The ability to write accurately, captivatingly and easily understandable
  • An interest in cultural projects and culture in general
  • Familiar with the Adobe package (especially Lighthouse, Photoshop and InDesign)

We imagine that the applicants have a background in for example communication or cultural studies. You could also still be studying towards a degree in one of these or related fields.

Employment conditions:
Salaries and working conditions follow UK law, and the embassy has its own local Personnel Handbook. Working hours are 20 hours a week, and the hours will be flexible.
