The Royal Danish Embassy in London's commercial department (Trade Council) is seeking a dedicated and loyal Commercial Advisor to be responsible for export promotion of healthcare related activities.

The Trade Council is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and our mission is to promote Danish commercial interests in the United Kingdom by creating value and increased exports for Danish companies. 

 
Your primary responsibility as a Commercial Advisor will be to advise Danish companies about exports and internationalization to the United Kingdom. Through our value creating consulting services you will aim to support the best framework conditions for Danish companies in the UK market. The services offered include public affairs support, facilitating access to authorities and key stakeholders, market analyses, partner searches, promotional events, organization of roadshows and Danish pavilions at trade shows, market access strategies and many more services aimed to promote Danish companies’ sales and marketing activities in the UK.

We expect that you:

1) Explore commercial opportunities in the British market and provide market intelligence, aiming to pave the way for Danish companies and increase Danish exports to the UK;
2) Promotional campaigns highlighting the Best of Denmark in order to strengthen the marketing and sales efforts of Danish brands in the UK;
3) Ensure the best framework conditions through engaging in public affairs activities in order to safeguard Danish commercial interests in the UK. 
 
Some travel within the UK and to Denmark is expected in order to engage with projects and stakeholders. You will be measured on the ability to create value for the Danish companies and contribute to achieve the regional earnings target.
 
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in business administration and/or other commercially-oriented graduate degree.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience with business development, consulting and/or project management. Strong ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop relevant export promotion activities.
- Experience from the healthcare sector and specific experience with companies working within pharma and medtech. Well-versed and familiar with the British market with a broad professional network and a good understanding of how the UK healthcare services work. Insight to Danish industry/companies is considered a plus.
- Experience with sales and used to working systematically with customer relations ensuring decisive value creation and customer satisfaction.
- You are proactive, resourceful and a strong networker. You are always willing to lend an extra hand to colleagues and put an extra effort to ensure a project’s success.
- Fluency in English. Danish is not a requirement, but is considered a plus.
- You are a team-player who values a good working environment with focus on strong cooperation.

You will be hired at The Trade Council in London and be part of the embassy staff of 45 employees. In your daily work, you will report to the Head of the Trade Council in London. You will also work closely with The Trade Council’s commercial employees in the UK and Ireland, who collectively cover the following sectors: food; creative industries; machinery and sub-contractors; energy, environment and water, health; and tech/digitization. We are a team of passionate advocates for Denmark in the UK and promote an open, collaborative and fun working environment.

Terms:

The Trade Council performs export advisory against payment, and has a number of shared KPI’s, including value creation and earnings. Salary according to qualifications and after individual agreement. 5 weeks vacation and flexible working scheme.

Expected start:

September 1st, 2019, or soon thereafter. Employment requires security approval from the Danish authorities.
